Table Position

  • Sit in Thunderbolt pose (Vajrasana).
  • Raise the buttocks and stand on the knees.
  • Lean forward and place the hands flat on the floor beneath the shoulders with the fingers facing forward.
  • Have the hands in line with the knees, so that the arms and thighs are perpendicular to the floor.
  • Separate the knees so that they are under the hips.

  • Slow, deep breathing.

  • Alignment of the head and spine.
  • The balance of the body.

  • Place a rolled blanket under the knees for extra padding.
  • Press down through the fingertips to take pressure out of the wrists.
  • If there is tenderness in the wrists, fists can be made with the hands, placing the knuckles on the floor so that the wrists are straight, knuckles and tops of the fingers supporting the weight.
