the teacher

Christina Jagusiak is an experienced Satyananda teacher who has been practicing meditation most her life and teaching it for more than five years. She is so passionate about meditation because it has transformed her life - by changing the way she thinks, feels and acts. Christina teaches practical ways to connect and center the mind so that you can find that place of stillness and ease admits the movement and distraction in everyday life.

This 60 minute class is dynamic and energising. We work on everybody part, look at some more advanced yoga poses and setting the mind for the week ahead.

This 75 minute class incorporates gentle flowing movements and steady postures from a combination of traditions. Physical poses are practiced to release tightness and tension in the body, breathing practices to bring balance to the mind and nervous system, relaxation and meditation to create peace of mind, focus and clarity. Classes aim to develop and balance all aspects of one’s being – body, mind, emotions and psyche. They can be practiced by anyone, regardless of age, ability or fitness level.

Yoga in the Park

Yoga in the Park is an organic style of yoga incorporating gentle flowing movements and steady postures from a combination of traditions.

It incorporates elements of Qi Gong and Tai Chi, with a strong focus on the breath.
Classes aim to develop and balance all aspects of one’s being – body, mind, emotions and psyche. The postures can be practiced by anyone, regardless of age, ability or fitness level.

Mats can be hired for $1.00, or buy your own for just $35.

What to bring

Bring a friend, bring your children, bring your grandparents, bring an open mind and a willing heart. And... bring a mat or towel if you have one. A sarong to place over yourself/ face during relaxation at the end of classes is handy to avoid sun and flies that can Shoulder standdisturb this peaceful pose. It is wise bring a water bottle, to avoid dehydration.

Weather

Classes will go ahead, rain or shine.  In wet weather we will move to one of the two rotundas to remain sheltered - just as serene!

Yoga for Seniors

Yoga is a wonderful tool for positive ageing. It increases health and wellbeing and has been shown to help alleviate or reduce many health concerns, common in older adults.

Our 'Yoga for Seniors' classes aim to -

Classes are tailored to meet both individual and needs and those of the group.   Physical poses, breathing techniques and relaxation methods are adapted to make them accessible and enjoyable for all. Those challenged with mobility and can practice in a chair.

While the physical component of the class is gentle, the poses we use are still highly effective in limbering the joints, removing tension and loosening stiffness from the body. Breathing techniques are used to energise and balance the body, resulting in enhanced lung capacity and function. At the end of each class we practice Yoga Nidra, a deep relaxation which calms the whole body, inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.

At Satya Live Yoga, our aim is to provide an easily accessible, affordable and convenient way to pursue Satya (true) Yoga (union). Yoga online
