What style of yoga do you teach?
My teachings are based in Satyananada Yoga.
Do I have to do yoga every day?
Not at all. Empower with Home Yoga is a course to support you in your yoga practice. There are no rules on when, where, or how often you practice, you decide. I give you all the tools and teachings and together we make them work for you. This course is to compliment and enhance life, not make it more challenging!
How long are the practices?
You get to choose how long you practice for! The practices are provided in segments. Most of them are between 5-15 minutes in length. You may decide to do 5 minutes of breathing techniques, 15 minutes of postures or a series of segments to form a 60 minute practice. What a lot of my students find is they get on the mat for a 10 minutes practice, enjoy themselves so much they end up spending an hour!
How do I get the practices?
They are sent to you via email. You can then watch and practice them on the secure online site or download them to your computer.
What format do the practices come?
In this course there are many practices. The main practice video is provided in different formats: high resolution video; audio file (mp3); and a written version. All the practices are designed for you to easily download to your computer and they are yours to keep.
Why are there different formats?
The 3 formats have been created so that when you are familiar with the poses in the video, you can practice just by using the audio and when comfortable with that you can use just the written format. Over time you can let go of this also and the practice becomes your own. By this I mean that you are familiar with it enough to practice without the video/audio/written, to tune into how you feel and sculpt your practice to your needs...this is where the magic happens.
How do I play the video?
You can play the video on your computer or other multimedia device. To watch it on your TV, you can burn it to a DVD or if your DVD player has USB compatibility, a USB drive. You can also put the audio file on you mp3 player or your iPod and practice with that.
What if I get really busy and can't practice?
The aim of the course is to establish a home yoga practice to work for you. I am here to support you with this. If you get really busy maybe taking 5 minutes of 'YOU' time for yoga is just what you need! The emails, tools and practices are yours to keep, so you can always come back to them when you are less busy.
